The TG12413 is a compressor / limiter module that was built by EMI in the late 1960s as part of the TG12345 mixing desk and TG12410 mastering console.
What are the key features of the TG12413 plug-in?
The plug-in is a near identical digital representation of the classic analogue module. It is Mac and PC compatible and is available is TDM and RTAS versions.
A new feature of the TG12413 plug-in is its mono to surround sound configurability, supporting up to 7.1 operation.
What does it sound like?
Like the original EMI TG12413 module, the plug-in has a very classic pumping / breathing sound.
Is it identical to the original?
It is an authentic emulation, as far as an emulation can be. The plug-in was written with the aid of the original design notes, technical drawings, and reference to Abbey Road's collection of vintage units to recreate a digital version of what an original factory TG12413 would sound like.
